NIGHTSHADE Cancels Chicago Concert
February 19, 2009NIGHTSHADE, the new project featuring former USURPER guitarist Rick Scythe, has cancelled its previously announced February 21 concert at Metal Shakers in Chicago, Illinois "due to health reasons." Rick states, "I started to come down with what I thought was a cold over the weekend and when my symptoms got worse, I went to the doctor and it turned out I have pneumonia. . . I was hoping to kick my 'cold' all week, but I can barely breathe right now, much less sing. We still hope that people will go out and show their support for the fantastic ASSKICKER as well as the other two bands."
NIGHTSHADE's debut album, "Autumnal Equinox", was released last month through Sempiternal Productions. It was made available as a 13-song full-length CD plus DVD complete with promo videos, a photo gallery, interviews and more.
NIGHTSHADE recently parted ways with Dan Yell (keyboards, organ) and Naught Norty (bass) and replaced them with Donna and Dan Geist, respectively. According to the band, "Dan Geist is a local bass player who has been supporting the Chicago scene for many years. He was recommended by drummer Timster as the two have been in a band together in the past. Dan's great bass playing as well as professional attitude and image makes him the perfect fit for NIGHTSHADE. Donna is a classically trained pianist who brings much more depth to the key/organ parts and will be a driving force on the next NIGHTSHADE recordings."
